Lyngblomsten Receives Innovation Award

Lyngblomsten of Saint Paul was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with the Leading Change Innovation Award for its original technology eMenuCHOICE™.

LeadingAge Minnesota Stars Among Us Awards recognize and celebrate the exceptional organizations, leaders, volunteers and caregivers in older adult services. The Leading Change Innovation Award showcase the very best innovative programs and ideas from provider organizations that advance the field of care and help older adults remain independent as long as possible.

eMenuCHOICE™ is a custom designed web based tool created to assist residents in assisted living and long term care in selecting their meals from a list of menu options. It includes photos, written descriptions and audio descriptions. The program promotes person-centered choices, reduces language barriers, and streamlines dietary management across the organization from the food service side of operations.

“For our participants, Lyngblomsten promotes dignity through informed choices for living options, respecting individuality and orchestrating the best life possible,” said Assistant Administrator Janet Byrnes who spearheaded the award nomination.

Ms. Byrnes and the Lyngblomsten leadership team accepted the award at the LeadingAge Minnesota Institute, the state’s largest and most comprehensive aging services conference. Nearly 4,000 professionals in all aspects of older adult services attend the annual three-day event to learn about new and innovative programs, share best practices and network with their peers.
