COVID-19 Has Closed Communal Dining - What's Next?

Like so many companies in the senior living industry, eMenuCHOICE is keenly aware of the myriad challenges facing senior communities in the wake of the COVID-19 virus.

Specifically, we are aware of the number of communities that are pausing, restricting or cancelling communal dining, along with other group activities.

While the implementation of such policies remains a community-by-community and day-by-day issue dependent on the specific characteristics of each community, eMenuCHOICE offers the following ways in which senior communities can continue to take orders and serve meals to residents where communal dining has been paused or restricted:

  • Staff placing resident orders for delivery to room.
  • Residents placing orders directly from their room where capable.
  • Family members logging in to place orders remotely via the web.
  • Shifting restaurant-style kitchens to bulk production and room delivery with production sheets and/or tray cards.

In order for residents or family members to place orders, you must enable Individual Access in eMenuCHOICE. We have created a new training page with many more details for staff who would like to implement any of the procedures mentioned above.

For further questions or assistance with resident access to eMenuCHOICE, please email us at support@emenuchoice.com.
